S Vaidyanathan is an IIM Bangalore Distinguished Alumnus Awardee.

Belonging to the Class of 1992, he sustained a Spinal Cord Injury on campus. After training at Dr Mary Verghese Institute of Rehabilitation, Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, he completed his MBA, and worked for The Hindu and Sundaram Finance Group.

He quit his corporate career in 2013 to work on a purely voluntary basis for The Ganga Foundation, whose work touches 5,000-plus lives of persons with spinal cord injury across India. He shaped The Spinal Foundation. He is India’s first half marathon runner on a wheelchair, he has done 16 so far.

His mission is enhancing the quality of life for persons with spinal cord injury by championing Quality Rehabilitation & mobility solutions, experience sharing  & networking. He has been doing this work on a purely voluntary basis since March 2013.
